I just ordered 2 iPhone pro max via VERIZON. 1 is 128gb and the other is 256gb. Unfortunately when I ordered I put phone#1 on 128gb and phone#2 on 256gb on the order. I need to put phone#1 as 256gb and vice versa. Can I just swap out the SIM cards? I tried emailing customer service and they told me to send the 2 phones back for refund and reorder??? There must be a simpler solution? ps - Verizon's customer service is a joke
All good. Contacted Verizon via their chat and they were able to reprogram the phone from their office. On the new iPhone 12, I guess you can't just swap SIM chips like before.
If this was Europe and provider was not Verizon I would say yes, or even get new eSIM codes sent, but different rules apply to Verizon. If they say to send them back then do that. The SIM and the EMEI number may be linked.
I have no idea why they need them back though and cannot do it remotely but as I way, this is Verizon we are talking about.
Maybe a US forum member can comment.
Maybe Verizon thought the same as me and you want the different storage in the other phone because they are different colours or something. Call them again.
SIM card has nothing to do with storage capacity.
Do as Support suggested within 14 days.
AN INTERESTING TWIST. So as mentioned I ordered 2 iPhone 12 Pro max and I got the other one today. Everything went smoothly on this one until I finished with all the data transfer and tried using the phone. it kept failing to make a call. I again went to Verizon live chat and after almost an hour of trying different things, Verizon said the installed SIM on this one was defective. So they asked me to remove the SIM from my old iPhone X and put it in the new iPhone 12 Pro max. And it worked! They are sending me a new SIM card but at least I can use the new phone for now so I guess it is possible but Verizon has to 'okay' it... just fyi.

Yes you can, but not with Verizon.
