Saskfishing,

We're glad to see you had a chance to look at your settings. We can understand your concerns if this did not help to solve the problem. How long has it been since you purchased the AirPods? From where did you purchase the AirPods? Has it been less than 14 days? If so, and you did purchase them from Apple, you may be able to return them. To check out more information about returns, look here: Returns & Refunds. If they were purchased outside of Apple, you'll want to reach out to the point of sale to inquire about their refund policy.

If it has been longer than 14 days and you did purchase from Apple, you'll want to Contact Apple for support and service. We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards!

Genieen, I’m somewhat computer-savvy so just changing the settings was my first step but did not fix the issues. Also changed the sizes of the silicon inserts, didn’t work. Several friends have these and some cannot hear conversations in their immediate area whereas I can even though it’s a bit quieter.

There are several posts stating the firmware changed the function of the AirPods, is that true? I have the newest firmware and will communicate with friends to see if that’s the issue. If I cannot resolve this I will just return them to the store I bought them from as they do not work as advertised

Saskfishing,

We're happy to help. It's hard to say if you require an update. What version of the AirPods firmware is on your AirPods? You can find this in Go to Settings > Bluetooth > AirPods type/name. Tap "i", then scroll down to the About section to see the firmware version.

Depending on the AirPods type, updating the firmware may require different steps. You can reach out to Apple directly so they can guide you on how to update the firmware if needed. Click here to Get Support.

We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!
