I have a new Mac Mini M1 and an OWC Thunderbolt Dock 4 with several LaCie Thunderbolt 2 external drives hooked up. The Mac Mini goes to sleep and a list of "Disk Not Ejected properly shows up when the computer is accessed. Will this corrupt the LaCie external drives?A fix is needed.

The mini doesn’t need to Sleep for you to sleep. If it’s the light that bothers you, you can tape it/cover. So, your options are: disable Sleep or shut down.
All gain, no pain. Shut for extended absences - half day or longer.
Nope. In fact, I only Sleep from the drop down when I going to be away for more than 12 hours.
I have the same problem. I either need to know how to solve it, or need a fix.
Ah, new information. Reformat the disk and make sure it’s with encryption disabled. Should fix it.
I just want to shut the "Disk not ejected properly" notification off completely. I use an external hard drive for TV Shows/Movies/Music and it seems to disconnect randomly from time to time (probably when my Mac goes to sleep). I don't want to shut the Mac off and shouldn't need to since it seems to run fine except for this.
I've done that, but it does not solve the problem. In fact, about half an hour WHILE I'M USING THE COMPUTER (Mac Air) the LaCie disk disconnects and gives me the "Disk not ejected properly" message. Eventually i presume this is going to destroy the HD, which is why i need a solution.
Hi! I have a Mac mini M1, connected to a 2Tb external disk with a USB-C interface for Time Machine backups. Everything worked flawlessly with Big Sur, but something odd happened with the backup system after upgrading to Monterey. Time Machine now starts but cannot complete a single backup, giving me a long list of "Disk not ejected properly" on the left side of my screen.
As I can see in the forum (and even in entries in the developer forum), this happened before with other upgrades, and I wonder if there's a solution for this (rather common) error.
Check "Prevent computer from sleeping......" in the Energy Saver Preference and only allow your display(s) to sleep.
Is there anything negative not allowing the Mac mini to sleep?

Maybe, but I never shut down unless I unplug to move the furniture.

I have the same problem and I've had that box checked. I have an OWC thunderbolt drive dock that ejects the drives regularly. Are there any other settings to check? Thanks.
