Unable to airplay or handoff to Homepod

I am unable to airplay or handoff to my Homepod. I am also unable to go manually through the Home app and connect. It always pops up with unable to connect. It streams music from touching the top and asking to play a song or playist from my phone but, I am unable to stream directly from my iPhone. I have tried going into the settings and editing it from there and I am still unable to figure it out. I have also attempted resetting it and restarting and that does not help either.
