The shop did not lie to you. Even using a genuine Apple display you will get the screen message. The only way you don’t get the message is if it is coded out using the Apple horizon software which as you may guess only Apple can do. Or if the original IC chip from the back of your old screen is soldered onto the new one which is never going to happen as it would destroy the new display.

No one here is Apple. This is a user to user forum. Read the Related Article about the message. It will disappear from the screen in 4 days, and from base page of the Settings app after 15 days. But it will never be gone from Settings/General/About.

You had the screen changed to a non-Apple screen. That message will appear forever in Settings/General/About, so whoever you sell the phone to in the future will know it doesn’t have a genuine screen.

No, it will go away by itself.

These notifications don’t affect your ability to use your iPhone or your display.

You will see a notification on your Lock screen for the first 4 days that you use your device and in the Settings app for 15 days. After that period, you can find the notification by going to Settings > General > About.

Hi, you say the non genuine screen warning goes after 15 days. It’s now more than 20 days and it’s still there, it doesn’t help when someone says you shouldn’t have fitted a none genuine screen in the first place. It’s my phone surely I can do this, there wasn’t any warnings before. You (Apple) said yourselves it would go in that time, please help!

Apple has decided to monopolize the repair on all their products. ALL new iPhone’s screen and batteries have an IC chip on them. No matter if you’re using an OEM screen or battery from another iPhone, you will always get the “non-genuine Apple part” mesg. Only way to get rid of it is to transfer the IC chip from the original screen to another OEM Apple screen. Don’t even bother transferring it to an aftermarket screen. However, the batteries will work if you transfer the IC board from the original battery to an aftermarket battery. Just like the Home Button and Dot Projector, those will require micro-soldering to transfer the chips onto another OEM part.

Even if you swap with Original LCD from apple the message will still display. That happens in 11 series and newer models. The best option is to just visit the genius bar or have apple authorized technician change it for you.

As you can’t get an “Original LCD from Apple” unless Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider does the replacement your post is meaningless. And if Apple or an AASP does change the display you won’t see that message.

To all those saying “you should have”, etc., not everyone has the luxury of going to an Apple store or certified technician during the pandemic.

That’s correct. But it is also correct that those people who don’t have the luxury of going to an Apple store or authorized repair facility will have a phone with an inferior screen that lacks features that only Apple screens have. And the warning is necessary so when you sell your phone the buyer will be fully informed about the history of the phone.

In other words, you want to cheat someone who buys the phone from you by not telling them that the screen has been replaced. That’s the only reason that I can think of to not have the repair history in Settings. Actually, with iOS 15 the repair history will report other repairs made to the phone also, sort of like Car Fax for iPhones.
