How do i turn Memories and Featured Photos off?!

I get notifications a new memory is created when I dont want it. Seeing a person's face who is an ex boyfriend or who has died is very painful. I don't want certain memories. How do I turn this off? It should never have been automatically turned on in the first place.

Disabling "Memories" in Photos Allow me to be the latest to add to this long-standing ugly "feature" from Apple. I understand there is no way to disable "Memories" in Photos. I was particularly offended when Apple created a memories of Easter for me earlier this year; my family is Jewish, and we do not observe Easter. Is there any hope that Apple will ever be encouraged successfully to disable this offensive, invasive feature of Photos?

How to disable memories? More of a comment and question. I DO NOT wish to have “memories” I do not wish to remember popping up when I do not want them. Especially photos of my dead dog, past relationships, and places I don’t want reminders of. Some memories are not good and I do not want a machine sorting these and putting them in a place where I do not want to see them. Anyone know how to side step this until gets this feature removed?
