Pencil discoloration

My apple pencil two is 2 days old. The end of the pencil, not not the writing side, has turned pink. I have only used it for a few hours and have not been in contact with any fabric that is red. Why has this happened?

I have never heard of that, so it'd be best for you to contact Apple support (link in upper right corner of this page) or take it to an Apple store to have them take a look. You can return it within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked.
