HomePod mini randomly having calls?

For awhile my HomePod has been having this little ring like a phone call was coming through. I ignored it thinking maybe it thought I said something. But just not I had a mans voice come though on it! I immediately unplugged it. And now I’m scared how is this happening? Can people randomly call me and will it pick up even tho I never answered? How are they calling me in the first place?

Usually if your iPad or iPhone rings you would need to instruct HomePod to answer it, say “Hey Siri, answer the phone”.

Its possible it’s something else that triggered it and it wasn’t a call at all. Like some random song playing. Look in your iPhone log to see if there was a call at that time. HomePod can on occasion start babbling away because it thinks you said hey Siri, but it would match the voice you chose it to use. TV’s being on can cause it to mishear
