Remapping F keys on Macbook keyboard

I am using a 2020 MacbookPro. I use the F keys on the touchbar for some games and find that they are difficult to press accurately.

I would like to create a keyboard that I can switch to that has the F keys on the touchbar remapped to some of the physical keys on the keyboard. I have used software to edit the layout of the keyboard but I was not able to remap the F keys.

Any solutions would be appreciated.

You can use a macro app like Keyboard Maestro to setup key combinations to equal the F keys; for example Control+1 = F1, etc. I use it and have many of the F keys set for different actions.

There are other macro apps in the App Store.
