iPhone Xs and X ghost touch issues.
iPhone Xs (3yrs old) misbehaves after its last iOS update (14.7.1) and now has ghost touch issues, like someone is controlling my phone. Randomly opens apps, writes meaningless emails, displays very random screen behaviour. This makes the phone useless 85% of the time except for about 1-10 minutes after some reboots. However rebooting is problematic as inputting the lock screen code is sometimes hijacked by the 'random ghost' and you go into ‘This phone will be locked for 15 minutes’ mode.
Very frustrating.
There appears not to be any official Apple programme of replacement for this issue, but as far as I can see this is the same issue as with the iPhone X which has an official Apple programme of replacement.
I note someone asked if the part numbers in the X, which are officially acknowledged as faulty, and the Xs are the same but to date no official answer has been provided by apple. I think someone on an Apple user forum indicated Apple may have said they were not the same part number, but no evidence is available to prove either way if this is the case.
I suppose I could dismantle the phone to determine if this is the case, but I'd rather not.
Has anyone been able to get the screen on an Apple iPhone Xs replaced by Apple for this seemingly identical issue to the iPhone X without having fork out for it themselves?
