iPhone with water damage

To whom it may concern,

My name is Rami and I bought an iPhone 11 Pro MAX 256GB from Jarir, Apple certified retailer in Saudi Arabia on Aug 5, 2020 from their branch in Panorama Riyadh

I am sending this email to report an issue with my phone that started on August 26 2021 and persists till now. Issue is my phone started restarting suddenly and repeatedly, haptics stopped and camera and sound stopped working as well.

I took the phone immediately to Jarir who reported that water leaked to the phone core.

This cannot be correct for the following reasons:

  • Apple claims that this phone resists water up to 4 meters deep in water for Half an hour
  • I live in Riyadh where humidity is low
  • The only exposure to water happens as splash (washing hands, phone close to kitchen sink, etc.) nothing more

Therefore I believe that there is a manufacturing defect in the phone.

After taking the phone from Jarir to Aleph, another certified Apple retailer they advised I send an email to Apple support.

Please let me know what’s the issue as Jarir’s explanation is not convincing not logical.

Appreciate your swift response in advance.

Regards,

Rami
