iPhone 12 Pro Long Camera Delay

I’ve read a few questions on that have had the same issues and the solutions suggested have not done me any good.

I have AT&T as my service provider and an iPhone 12 Pro. I just got the phone 2 weeks ago and bought it because of the camera quality. The camera has a very long delay when going to take a picture and an even longer one when in portrait mode. If you do 2x portrait mode it won’t even load. A regular picture takes roughly 15-20 seconds before taking. Obviously this is problematic when taking photos of moving objects, pets, etc.

I’ve restarted my phone more times than I could count, done a complete factory reset, played around in settings, nothing has worked. Even after the factory reset, the camera took equally as long, even without messages, contacts, apps on the phone to slow it down.

I’m at my wits end and feel like there’s no solution. Can anyone help?

It seems you're having trouble with the Camera app and we can help.

Is this happening when you use the camera in other apps, or only in the built-in app?

It's normal for certain modes like portrait or low light situations to need longer exposure times, although the time that you're describing is very long.

Is there anything else that might be running on your device? Is it in low power mode or low on battery?

You mentioned doing a factory reset, did you reinstall the iOS software using a computer as outlined below:

this could be a component level problem. if the phone is not brand new from the box, it could be that it had a logic board issue from the previous user.

Hi,

No, I am not running any apps in the background. I've actually done a factory reset on the phone and tried to take a photo with a totally wiped memory and still had the same problem.

All of this is happening on the default camera app that comes with the iPhone.
