QuickTime Player records screen with surround audio. How do I change it to stereo audio recording?

Hi guys.

I have a small problem with the QuickTime app when recording the screen of my macbook pro, and that is that when I export the video, it comes with a surround audio format, and this gives me problems when editing the audio . I want the video to be exported with stereo audio, not surround. How do I configure QuickTime to record stereo audio?

Set your sound input (“microphone”) from the QuickTime recording options. Select a stereo option.

If you use a third party add-on for recording system audio, then that software may have its own channel configuration options.

To change this after the recoding has been made, convert the clip to a movie file with stereo audio. You may need to use other software than QuickTime Player for the conversion.
