Running a shortcut with Siri does not work, why not?

I created a shortcut to get the date and copy it to the clipboard. I originally wanted to have the shortcut paste the date into the Notes.app where the cursor is but that's apparently not possible...

Directions from the Shortcut app say you can always use Siri to run a shortcut by saying "Hey Siri" and the shortcut name.

Well, it doesn't work. All I receive is pain and suffering for attempting to make something easier.
