Brother Printer MFC-L2710DW Offline

Is there a known issue using a Brother Printer MFC-L2710DW (or any other model of this brand) with Apple products? My printer works well, then goes offline and our devices can't get it back online. We bought this newer model because we had a similar issue with our old Brother printer, which was connected to the router port, and sometimes our computers could not detect it either. I am wondering whether this is an OS problem. Again, resetting everything doesn't prevent the printer to go offline after a few hours.

Thank you very much for your advice. On the first link you gave (Brother's website) it says that there are issues with Eero. The printer needs to connect to a 2.4 GHz network, not a 5:

Mesh Network

A mesh network is a type of network setup utilizing multiple wireless access points or nodes, within an environment, which appears as a single network. Though there are multiple wireless access points, they all broadcast a single network name (SSID), which allows for streamlined connection by multiple devices.

If you experience repeated offline or lost connection issues with your Brother machine, the mesh network’s name (SSID) must be separated into different bands and the Brother machine must be connected to the 2.4 GHz network.

Not all mesh network configurations allow for separating the network name (SSID). Please check with your device manufacturer for specifications and instructions.

EERO Mesh Network Users: We have found a link between EERO routers and Brother devices, which may cause frequent wireless disconnection. Our technical support team has thoroughly researched the situation and found that due to the specifications of EERO routers, we do not have the ability to stabilize their wireless connection with the Brother device. For a better overall network connection, we recommend using your Brother device with an Ethernet cable connected to your router, if supported by your machine's specifications. You may also use a USB cable connected directly to your computer. Brother cannot offer any further assistance with this issue while using an EERO router.

I will get more info from the Eero company.

Thanks again!

Hello,

It would probably be correct to assume that the printer is using AirPrint (the MFC-L2710DW model is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support). If so, is the printer wirelessly connected to the router, or by Ethernet (to one of the LAN ports)?

https://support.brother.com/g/b/spec.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcl2710dw_us_eu_as

Generally speaking, when there is a problem with AirPrint, it may be a good idea to try the following power-cycling sequence: Power off the router, the printer, the computer, and all other devices (iPhones, et cetera). Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the computer. Finally, power on all other devices.

Any information about the router? Sometimes, there is a problem with an automatic or "smart" detection of devices when a router is using dual bands. Many printers work with 2.4 GHz only. A problem here could result in a printer being disconnected. See, just as examples, the following articles:
