I have tried several apps but only use a few. The problem is I have deleted them from my phone screen but they continue to take up storage space in my ICloud. Is there anyway to permanently delete these apps? Thank you for your help

Apps are not stored in iCloud.
Be aware that with iOS 14 it is possible to remove an app from the home screen without actually deleting it. On an iPhone with iOS 14, if the app is on a Home screen, touch and hold the app, tap Remove app and then tap Delete App (or tap Edit Home Screen in the pop up menu, tap the minus sign, then tap Delete App)
If the app is only in the App Library screen (swipe left past the last Home screen), touch and hold the app there and then tap Delete app.
