system memory of the macbook

Hello. I am a new user of the 2019 Macbook. My problem is that the system takes up 75GB of memory out of a possible 128 GB. I tried to update the software from macOS Mоjave to Mac OS Big Sur and the update download was interrupted several times, and after that the occupied space in the system memory increased. I can't find the reason and free up space on the Macintosh HD. I will be grateful for your help.
