Apple Watch pairing

I bought Apple Watch today and I tried to do the pairing with my iPhone 12.

Apple watch requested me to put the watch close to my iPhone so I did that and an image showed up on the screen of Apple watch and iPhone requested to take a picture of the image with the iPhone camera and I took the image. Apple watch indicated that the pairing was done successfully (I can't remember the exact message on the screen) so I left them for a while. And I tapped the Apple watch screen and it said "Please continue setup on iPhone" so I tapped iPhone as well and iPhone also showed the message of "Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch". So I tapped "continue" and "Set Up for Myself" and iPhone said "Put on your Apple Watch and hold it up to the Camera" and I followed the message but no image showed up on the screen of Apple watch and nothing happened. Could you please let me know how to solve this problem and how to do the pairing with my Apple Watch and my iPhone?
