Can the voiceover function be paused in imovie?

I suspect the answer is no, but is it possible to pause recording when creating a voiceover? I find that I like to stop for a few seconds and compose my thoughts or look at my notes, before continuing on to each new topic. The problem is that clicking the red button requires a little more time and a little more trouble to restart the voiceover recording correctly. Is there a solution to my problem?
