Bluetooth Volume Control on iPhone 12

I have an iPhone 12 with version 14.7.1 and after this update, I am no longer to control the volume on my Bluetooth device from my phone. I used to be able to adjust the volume for my Bose speaker from my phone if the music was too soft or loud. Now the volume controls do nothing from my phone. Any advice?

CADOC1,

Thanks for the additional details.

From here we'd recommend unpairing your Bose speaker from your iPhone and then pair them back again using the "Unpair a Bluetooth accessory" steps in the article below.

After pairing the speaker back, if the issue persists we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support for additional assistance.

Take care.

Hi CADOC1,

To make sure we're on the same page, we see you have a Bose speaker that prior to the most recent iOS update, you could control using the volume on your iPhone?

If so, were you just pressing the volume buttons, or do you swipe down from the top right corner of the Home Screen to access the Control Center and select your speaker from a widget there?

Also, confirm if the speaker has its own independent app, if the app has an update in the App Store, or if volume controls for that speaker are now within the relevant app.

Let us know, and we'll follow up from there.

Correct. I could just use the volume up/down on my iPhone to control the volume on my Bose. No swiping the screen, just simply using the volume buttons on my iPhone.

There is no Bose app on my phone. I just link via bluetooth connection and music from iTunes, Sirius XM, etc just switches to playing on my Bose speaker rather than the phone. Up until the last update, I have always just used the volume buttons on the phone to adjust the volume on the Bose speaker. I have rebooted my phone. No change.

Thanks for any advice.
