My iPhone 8 is dead. The supplier requested I log out of Apple ID before returning, which I did. Now they say I need to erase the phone - how can I do this when it is no longer linked to my Apple ID account?

However, if the phone is truly "dead" then you cannot do anything to erase it, particularly since you say you have removed it from your Apple account and can't even leave a remote erase command.
