No delivery notice received from messages sent to a regular contact

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, your iMessages aren't being delivered to your grandson. We'll do our best to assist.

It sounds like these messages are not delivering. When you attempt to send them and they don't deliver, does the message show up in blue or green in color? We ask because if iMessage fails to send the message, it should attempt to send it as a text message instead and that would show up green in color.

Work through the following: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Test another contact to see if the issue persists when sending messages to someone else.

No worries. If the messages are being received it could be that the messages are delivered and then marked as 'Read' below the message. If your grandson has Read Receipts enabled for your contact.

In that case, it may not continuously show as 'Delivered' but instead 'Read' on your iPhone.
