Does some know how to Install the XProtect software? Apparently XProtect is not showed under my Library/CoreServices

Hello There.

Does some know how to Re-Install the XProtect software?

Apparently XProtect is not showed under my Library/CoreServices

Any Suggestions?

Thanks

Both XProtectPlistConfigData and MRConfigData updates are pushed to your Mac by Apple when you have the following selected in Software Update Advanced… panel. They will not appear in Software Update for user determined installation.

You can also confirm these installations from option + menu + System Information > Software > Installations.

The last MRTConfigData installation for my macOS 11.5.2 occurred on 9/2/2021, and for XProtect, it was 8/24/2021. These may occur monthly, or with different frequencies depending on Apple's schedule.

In the Terminal, you can run the following commands:

pkgutil --pkgs | grep "XP|MRT"

For my macOS 11.5.2 installation, that shows the following where the highest sequence number is the last update:

you can then see where the package was installed into the filesystem with this:

pkgutil --files com.apple.pkg.XProtectPlistConfigData_10_15.16U4167 | more

That makes a lot of sense. So I understand the XProtect Zip-file which was shown under

Library/CoreServices isn't necessary to be in my MackBook. Correct?

I assume with next update it will re appear in the Path.

Okay thanks. I guess this is the path to the latest update I run on my OS

/Library/Apple/System/Library/CoreServices/XProtect.bundle

Right?

thanks
