Why does the Apple Notes App randomly underline text?

The Notes app will underline a word when it is not spelled correctly. This is not an underline that will print however it is a notification underline to the writer that there may be a spelling issue with the word. It will do the same when you enter an address to identify that the words are in an address.
If you are experiencing something different when the Notes app underlines everything that you are typing, then the UNDERLINE function of the Notes app is probably ON. If you select the content that is underlined by holding and clicking "select all" and in the next pop up click "more" then click "BIU" and then click underline the lines should disappear and only leave the words. Once you've clicked "underline" you shouldn't have the underline until you turn it back on.
