airpods won’t stop flashing and and won’t connect

i just bought my airpods yesterday and they were working perfectly fine until today. they started flashing amber when both of them are in the case and when you take one out and press the setup button it turns green and if you hold the setup button with one airpod in the case you can connect it but once you take it out to try to listen to music or anything the airpod disconnects. i tried to factory reset with both of the airpods in the case but it won’t stop flashing amber. my case is also fully charged.
