Can Apple TV (1stgeneration) be updated or fixed. A month ago it was working and no more.

Sorry, my fault This is an Apple TV 2nd generation. And I don't know how to update it if possible. Yes I am going to look for a refurbished 4th generation. I am 74 years old in Mexico and it is not easy to buy a new one.

The Apple TV (2nd generation) cannot be updated beyond software version 6.2.1, which was released in September 2014.
To update the software, try Settings﹥General﹥Update Software.
No, the device is close to 15 years old and has not been supported for many many years. Have you considered putting your time and resources into a new Apple TV 4K?
