When will Apple devices support Nikon Z7ii camera connection and RAW files properly?
When I first started using my Z7ii in January I had some problems with some third-party applications not supporting the RAW (.nef) files, but I had no problems connecting the camera to my iMac nor to my iPad Pro.
After only a few weeks I was no longer able to connect the camera directly to the iMac with the USB-C cable anymore. The iMac would not recognize the camera. The iMac would recognize the SD card from the camera and read it without problems, but I was only able to get it to recognize and read the CFX card one time.
After a couple months I noticed that when I connected the camera directly to the iPad with a USB-C cable the iPad would not recognize it, and later if I did get the iPad to recognize the camera and import the images it would only display them as black squares, not actual images. This despite the same iPad earlier having no problems displaying the images from the very same camera!
So, both my iMac and iPad have moved from apparently supporting the Nikon Z7ii to NOT supporting it. I find this very annoying and also very weird as it makes no sense for support for a relatively new camera to be removed? I need to know when Apple will start to properly support my camera, as I am considering buying a new computer but I am NOT going to buy a new camera just because Apple wants to boycott it!
