no, my Mac would wake up from sleep and still wouldn't ask for it. When I turn it on, it asks for password, not ID, which I think it asks anyways on the first log in. For sleep time, I solved the issue. It's in system preferences>Security>General>tick on require password immediately after sleep/screen saver (we can change time as we prefer).
