No. Support ended back in December of last year. You can still download it from Apple, but updates are no longer created (which makes it no longer supported).

That doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with High Sierra. It is just an older, stable OS which will no longer be updated.
I'm most concerned about security updates. I don't know if that's different from OS updates. My understanding is that once security updates stop, your computer becomes increasingly vulnerable to hacks and malware.
Thank you fo your clarity. Security and OS updates are the same thing. You should know that aMac can not get what we call a virus. It can be infected with what we call malware. The is normally easily removed with the respected free app MalwareBytes. The bigger issue, from my standpoint, is that eventually updates of other software will no longer be compatible with the OS. Microsoft Office is an example. And there is the issue of age. Eventually all computers get old and can fail. When to get a newer one is an individual issue .
No. Apple supports the current operating system version (currently) Big Sur and the previous two upgrades. Support for High Sierra ended in Fall 2020.
