The “N” would indicate that it was issued by Apple as a replacement unit.
It appears to be a Graphite, 128 GB iPhone 12 Pro Max. Again, the letter N indicates it is a replacement unit issued by Apple. You can input the serial number at checkcoverage.Apple.com to determine the warranty status.
As explained by sbreman, that particular iPhone is a replacement.
That means someone,. likely the previous owner, had an issue with their original iPhone 12 Pro Max, took it to Apple for Service and it was replaced with the one you now own. It is not New, as it was owned by someone else before they sold to you.
The N means it was issued as a replacement for another iPhone that had some kind of irreparable issue.
There is nothing wrong with being a replacement. The replacement can be either refurbished or brand new, but if its refurbished, it is for all intents and purposes indistinguishable from new models and is guaranteed to work just as well. The Replacement iPhone will carry the remainder of the warranty of the unit that was replaced.

A replacement unit means it was provided by Apple as a warranty, or out of warranty replacement.
As explained by Phil above, The fact that it has N as the starting model is not an issue. If the warranty is still intact, it would appear to be a newly issued replacement.
But at the end there A2342 ..the actual model number starts with a or The first letter
Yes, the A2342 number identifies it as a model for the US market. The “M” or “N” number will further identify it by capacity and colour.
