I got scammed and can't unblock my iPhone

Yesterday I got a message from my friend saying that she lost her phone and that she wants me to sign in to her Apple ID and use "Find My Phone" feature. I signed in to her account and the moment after that I got a message that I got scammed and need to pay money to unblock my phone. I am from Kazakhstan and here we don't have any official Apple tech support that we can contact. We tried to contact the Russian Apple support center, but the phone number doesn't work. Can someone help with that or advice on how to contact some local tech support?

Check this lock removal service. Apple can completely reset a device if a person can provide sufficient evidence of valid ownership. Do this online at: Activation Lock support request - https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Apple says, "Proof of ownership documentation is required," but does not state what currently constitutes proof. Prior to this new online service Apple typically required the original receipt issued by Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller and documented provenance (so typically it would be the original owner who does this, or a descendant with legal proof of ownership).

Your Apple account is likely okay since it was you who did all the ID changing. I presume you did not send them your ID or password. If you still have concerns:

Hello there dbrwr2,

Thank you for using Apple support.

Try and factory reset your phone. Make sure if you actually do that, you need to have your things stored in iCloud or online. You should change the password on your Apple ID ASAP. If you have no backups, you can go into recovery mode. A very straight forward and amazing tool Apple has just for this unfortunate situation. Best of luck! PS Look up recovery mode on internet or use this website! (This site is most reliable)

By the way your english is incredible!

Good day, Deezeemoose

Hi Deezeemoose,

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate your help. I have a question if the scammers actually have an access to my Apple ID since I signed out from my ID and signed in to their ID. I use my Apple ID account on a Mac and it is currently working fine. I think that there's a problem that I just can't access my phone because I can't sign out of their account, not that they access my ID. Isn't the only way they can access my Apple ID is that I send it to them?

Sincerely, dbrwr2
