Safari not loading pages, other web-based apps working

I'm having trouble opening anythign in Safari. The page appears to load and then just gets stuck. Was also having issues with iCloud mail a few hours ago but that seems to be fine now. Also, Slack was struggling to load.

I'm able to open web pages and browse using Firefox, no problem. Opened Safari preferences and Auto Detect Proxy is already UNTICKED so that is not the problem.

Any ideas? Using 2020 MacBook Pro, Big Sur latest update.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.5

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Wondering about Safari:

If cookies are all deleted / blocked it may make a difference on some websites.

If a huge "History" list may be slowing Safari down (eg: may be set to "remove after one year", or, only if you manually remove).

If you have an ad-blocker installed, that may interfere with web-pages

If Safari doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected
