after using my Apple pay for quite sometime, it is now asking me to verify my identity. can you tell me why this is happening and why i need to use my social security #

Because ApplePay Cash flows through a bank, there are federal regulations regarding reporting of financial transactions to the IRS.

i’ve tried verifying with my i’d and it will not verify! i am using my current id with all the correct info.
