Voicemail problems

My voicemail doesn’t alert me or show any of the messages I have in my voicemail. This is what it looks like at all times even if I have 10 voicemails I won’t know unless I press 1. I have to physically call 1 to check all of my messages but have no way of knowing when or who sent them.
