Handoff off and iPhone and Mac still connect? Help.

Hello. I’m not sure why, but my iPhone and iMac keep connecting and Handoff is OFF on both devices.

When I go on my Mac safari a bar shows up on my iPhones Safari showing what I was looking at on my Mac. Also, when I make a call on my iPhone and hit “speaker” it gives me options to choose “iPhone” “speaker” and “Mac”

Id love to figure this out and why they are still connecting even with Handoff OFF on both devices. Thanks.

You must be sharing an Apple ID between your Mac and your phone, and you have iCloud Sync enabled between them. On the phone go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud. Turn off the switches for the items that you don’t want to sync to the Mac. Do the same on the Mac: Menu, Preferences, iCloud (or Apple ID on Mojave and later).

Also go to Settings/Phone - Calls on other devices and turn it off.

To stop getting calls on one of your devices, just turn off the Calls from iPhone setting on that device. Watch the GIF

For the phone calls go to Settings/Phone - Calls on other devices and turn it off.

You just need to uncheck Safari on both the Mac and the iPhone. That option syncs history and bookmarks.

Here's how to turn on/off Handoff on your devices: Mac: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click General. Select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff, then turn on Handoff.

Use Handoff to continue tasks on your other devices - Apple ...

Hello. Thank you. You may be on the right track because I see a cloud next to the bar on my iPhone Safari that shows what I was on on my iMac (see pic)

Im just not understanding the directions you are giving. When I go into iCloud on the Mac and iPhone it just shows a check mark next to what’s using iCloud. I don’t see anything that says sync or anything. I don’t want to un check things that I’m backing up on iCloud by mistake. I just don’t see anything about sync. (See pic)

That wouldn’t explain why all of a sudden when I hit speaker phone on my iPhone it gives me a “Mac” option, right? I use speaker phone everyday and this wasn’t happening yesterday and today it is. Thanks again.
