Apple has stated they’re trying to reduce waste.
Many of those provided chargers ended up in the trash.
Apple has provided a USB-C Lightning cable and has omitted the USB-C charger (folks with newer iPhones and using rapid charging will already have a USB-C charger), or folks will have a USB-A charger and a USB-A lightning cable (the older 5W, 10W, or 12W setup used for charging an iPhone), or can order the particular charger that they want (for those that don’t have either).
Apple offers USB-A and USB-C chargers, and as do many third-party vendors including Anker.
