highlighting notes

highlighting notes

in the notes app i am trying to colour code my notes by highlighting them in yellow, green, blue, etc. i have tried markup, it doesnt work.

There is no highlighter in Notes.

They are paint brushes not highlighters, for painting between blocks of text not over the text.

Well then why when I click on the pencil icon on the upper right hand corner does the highlight and different type of pens come up? I have the I pen and I still can’t do it? Any help here?
