Show phone numbers on incoming call

Hello,

I really need help trying to see the phone numbers when receiving an incoming call.

For example, when I get a phone call from an unknown number, my phone will say "unknown name" or "potential spam", but it does not show me the phone number. I have to let the call go to voicemail, check my call log and look up the number that way. The issue is that I need to be able to see the number, so I know whether to pick up or not. Usually when I call back, it's the general number and I am not able to reach the specific person/department calling me. So then, I have to wait for them to call me again and answer all the random calls. Plus, some calls are mislabeled as spam, so it's not like you can trust what the Caller ID says.

When it comes to the numbers in my contacts, I don't care. It's the unknown numbers that I would like to be able to see.

If I'm not able to do this on iPhone, is there an app that can do this or an app you recommend?

Hi Amyvu,

It seems you have questions about Caller ID and we can help.

Caller ID seems to be working fine if you see your contacts show correctly, since that is based on their numbers. If some calls are unknown and don't have a number attached, then they are not sending a number that you can see.

One thing you can do is silence all unknown callers:

Detect and block spam phone calls

Let us know if that helps.

Sorry, I guess I wasn’t clear enough. I am not receiving blocked calls. I can see the phone number of the unknown caller when I go into my call log. But this is AFTER the call, I need to see the phone number WHILE the phone is ringing.

I do not want the caller ID to say “unknown number” or “potential spam call” I want to be able to see the phone number so I can see if I need to pick it up or not.

I can’t block spam calls because the caller ID is not trustworthy. Sometimes it will say it’s a “potential spam call” when it’s actually a real person trying to reach me.
