My iCloud Drive doesn't sync any files from my iCloud Drive in the cloud with my Mac.

Apple provides certain applications with the ability to sync their content on iCloud Drive to your Mac, but not iCloud Drive in general. On Big Sur, see System Preferences > Apple ID and select iCloud Drive and its Options… panel.
