How do I copy an iMovie project?
How do I copy an iMovie project? I clicked on the circle with three dots just below the project and clicked on Duplicate. But a copy didn't appear anywhere.

In the projects browser, go to View/Sort Projects by/Date-Descending. Then scroll all the way to the top. The duplicate project should appear in the top row right next to the large gray icon with the + sign in it.

It looks like iMovie is demonstrating unexpected behavior. It could be a corrupt preference causing it. Try deleting preferences. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and select to delete preferences in the box thst appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your original library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can duplicate your project.

If deleting preferences doesn't work, another way to copy a project is to open the project anddo an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of the media in the project, and then paste the project's media into the timeline of a newly created project. Your edits will carry over, and you will have a duplicate project.

Thank you, Rich, but when I follow your instructions to "go to View/Sort Projects by/Date-Descending, then scroll all the way to the top. The duplicate project should appear in the top row right next to the large gray icon with the + sign in it" the only project that appears next to the large gray icon with the + sign is my original project, not a duplicate.
Thanks,
Andrew
