Issues Restoring locked iPhone

Last week I accidentally locked myself out of my iPhone 7 while trying to start it up. The iPhone shows a message saying "iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes. So I plugged it into my MacBook and put the iPhone in recovery mode. I opened Finder because my Mac has Big Sur 11.5.2 on it. Then the Mac says it wants to install iOS 14.7.1. So I let it do that, even though 14.7.1 is already installed on the iPhone. It then downloads the update. Then it says "Could not install because iPhone 'iPhone' is corrupted. Does anyone know how to fix this? The Mac is a Mid 2019 model, so it is somewhat new.

Thank you

iPhone 7, iOS 14

Recovery mode will always wipe the phone and install a fresh copy of iOS

Try again or borrow another computer.
