USB Drive Won't Spin Down Upon Hibernate

I have a G-DRIVE Mobile USB disk that I use on my Mac Pro Cylinder, running MacOS Big Sur that won't power off (spin down) when I sleep or hibernate the system. For the most part I've ignored it, but it doesn't seem normal to me. I actually have two G DRIVES and one does power off properly.

The model of this is 0G10477-1, 5TB drive, USB 3.1.

The other G DRIVE is also USB 3.1, 0G10348, and powers down fine.

Anyone know what the issue could be?

Not sure about your specific drive but some drives spin down and others do not depending upon the design. I have some that do and others that do not mostly dependent on the enclosure in my case.
