MacBook Pro A17089, OS 11.5.2 Big Sur

I have a company webmail address (ie. John@widgets.***). The webmail mailbox was full so I had to dump mail. I first saved it on my macBook Mail app by creating a folder in mail and drag and dropping the oldest 40% of my mail into it. After confirming the mail was in the new folder, I deleted the same 40% of mail from the webmail server.

Then, because I was unable to send Company mail using Mac Mail, (smtp issues) I deleted the account on my MacBook and reloaded it. Everything reloaded as expected. So easy.

BUT - the emails I had dragged and dropped into the folder in the sidebar under On My Mac, was empty!!!??? Why? Are these emails hidden somewhere? Please help. 40% of company correspondence is lost.

Well you would expect to see them there...

Verify you have flipped the carrot, if nothing is showing.
