For the majority of Users, the optimal settings are the defaults. The “Experimental” label is misleading. Whilst some features are indeed being developed/refined, the vast majority of settings here control key elements of browser functionality and security. WebKit is a core component of the majority of web-browsers - not just Safari.

Unless you know precisely what you are doing, making changes to these settings may significantly disrupt your browsing experience. There is no “undo” or “restore defaults” option. The only way to restore these settings to the default requires a complete wipe/reset of your iPad.

If you do “experiment” with these settings, be sure to fully note all the settings (or take take screenshots) before you start - as you will then have sufficient information to restore your “default” settings should you need to do so. Also be aware that each iOS/iPadOS release may change the available settings.

Here are the logistics. I changed the settings on both my iPad & iPhone 7+ approx a yr ago in a fit of hormonal rage & out of desperation. My laptop was also having significant probs & had a concern for security issues… No lectures please, I read them on the other posts. Maybe the condescension that I read was also a “hormonal thing”? Anyway, I recall flickering, unresponsive screens & screens that would close w/o warning. New websites that would open up on Safari where I had not been prev. I installed Express VPN (correctly through Apple app), there were issues, uninstalled, reinstalled, Comcast issues… I don’t remember. Enough of the craziness went away & I was 😀. (BTW, Batteries were fine, have lots of storage & up-to-date.)

Now it’s back. And I’ve 👀 all over for the “EWKF” safest, correct settings for iPad & iPhone 7+. If someone would be so kind as to tell me what ea one needs in a respectful & nonjudgmental fashion I would be ever so grateful. Pix are a plus — I’m a visual person. Not sure if the prior ones that were posted are up-to-date.

This is your opportunity to be my hero. Remember no judgement — Thank you!!!
