Hello guys!
i just installed windows 10 pro via bootcamp on my mac and wondered why its already taking up 28 GB of storage. The total size of all files located in BOOTCAMP (C:) is only 19 GB - which seems to be reasonable for the OS.
I´d like to know what the remaining 9 GB's are used for - and if i can use this space somehow.

If you are worried about 9GB it makes me wonder how large your Boot Camp partition is. The space taken by Windows is somewhat irrelevant. It takes the space it needs. The question is, how large is the partition and how much space do you need for programs and data and is the space you have sufficient for your needs?
Download https://windirstat.net and check. You also need to account for pagefil.sys and hiberfil.sys.
Your initial guess was spot on! Hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys is consuming a crap ton of space. I didn’t expect this at all.

The size of these two files is derived by Windows, based on available memory on your Mac. I do not recommend changing them, unless you are certain you really want to.
