Found Watch

Good morning, I work at a middle school. I found an apple watch and would like to return it to the owner. The watch is password protected. Is there a way to find out who the watch belongs to?

Lost/Found watch Hi there... I’ve found an apple watch and i erased the password in hopes to find the owner, i do not know who it belongs to but i need to get in touch with them to return it. I’ve tried contacting anyone i think may own it but haven’t had any luck finding who it belongs to. it’s registered with an apple id already so someone is looking for it I’m sure, is there any way i can find out who owns this and get it back to them?

Unless you see a screen like this;

then there is nothing you can do,hand it in to the police.
