How do I get icons of applications to appear on the desktop? MacBook Pro, 2021.

Missing Menu Bar in the App Store Good day Community, I currently have a Mid 2011 27-inch iMac running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. Regardless of what computer profile I am in, the App Store application on the iMac is missing the Menu Bar Icons at the top. I have tried logging out and in of the App Store account but to no avail. Even when you go up to the very top menu bar and click on the Store drop down the "Featured, Top Charts, Categories, Purchased and Updates" selections are missing. I've searched the internet for an answer but keep running into solutions for the iPhone not the iMac nor the App Store software itself. Below is an example of an App Store with the Menu Bar and one with out. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thnx With Menu Bar Example: With Out Menu Bar Example:
