I have added a few videos to a Photos slideshow. I don't like music playing with my slideshows as I comment on each photograph. The videos as self explanatory with their own sound track. The videos play but there's no sound. Suggestions? Thanks
Mac mini 2018 or later
Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and check again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Do you have the sound turned on for the slideshow?
Also do the videos when played in the library (not in the slideshow) have their sound audible?
Interestingly enough, they play just fine in the preview and as a regular slide show in Photos. The export m4v file is silent!
The issue appeared to be the physical size of the file. I use a special program to compress the M4V files and everything started to work. There’s just so much photos can do..
