Does anyone know how to connect and old firewire hard drive to a laptop that does not have a firewire port?

Does anyone know how to connect and old firewire hard drive to a laptop that does not have a firewire port?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13
You will need a thunderbolt to FireWire adapter such as this Apple one. If your MacBook Pro only has Thunderbolt 3/USB-C connections you would also need a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. And, if the FireWire drive is FireWire 400, you will need a FW 400 to 800 adapter.
