Restore 2 iPhones from 1 backup?

I now have two new iphones, one for work, the other personal. I would like both phones to start off with exactly the same info/apps/layout/etc. on them, I will then adapt each phone accordingly.

I've the backup of my original iPhone, my question is can I restore both the new phones from the same backup file? I understand that after the first backup I'll need to setup different backups for each, but to initially get both phones working the same, can I do this, restore both from the same file?

My old iPhone was a 3g 8g. The new ones are also both 3g's, one a 16 the other a 8g.

Thanks.

Yes. After you restore the first phone, eject it, DO NOT SYNC. Follow this by restoring the second phone. You can now sync each phone. Itunes will keep everything straight by device.
